It is clear to those who spend time with him, that he is in fact, not entirely human, but rather a divine servitor in human guise. Cinderlands -Home of the Sklar-Quah (The Sun Clan)

Evocation Wizard (Human) http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/metamagic-feats
Balefire

Bēlōr/Balefire was born to an adventuring party’s Shoanti Warrior (mother) and Shoanti Sorcerer (father). Bēlōr was orphaned at age 12 when his parents were killed. A surviving party member not knowing what to do with the young Varisian boy so far from his home, turned him over to Absalom wizard academy, fully paid his tuition, and departed.

In the great city of Absalom, he was taught by the wisest masters on Golarion, but treated poorly by the other students who saw him as 'Shoanti barbarian'. This treatment by his peers, led Bēlōr to develop a resilient streak in this personality; he often repaid them in class combats. As a magical prodigy, he delved into lessons of the arcane deeper than the other students in Absalom academies, and succeeded to the point that even his instructors were suspicious of him.

Balefire is an elegant version of a Shoanti man with largely unalloyed character flaws/ faults. He is described as being very thin, slightly below average height, handsome, and tanned, with grey eyes and long black hair. Emotionally, he is courageous, intelligent, loyal, and steadfast. He is presented as behaving ethically in most situations, except when seeking vengeance or under the motivation of grief. When presented with a situation where a weaker individual or party is being preyed upon by a stronger foe, Balefire invariably takes the side of the weaker party. In dealing with other men (non-Shoanti), Balefire is firm and forceful. With friends, he is reserved but deeply loyal and generous. As a host, he is, likewise, generous and gracious. As a leader, he commands devoted loyalty.

In keeping with these noble Shoanti characteristics, Balefire's philosophy embraces an extreme form of "return to nature". Although he is able to pass within society as a civilized individual, he prefers to "strip off the thin veneer of civilization". His preferred dress is a spiked shoanti gauntlet and tribal robe, his preferred abode is the open desert, and his favored food is well done meat, killed by himself; even better if he is able blast it several times just to tenderize it a bit.

He has recently returned home to the Sklar-Quah (The Sun Clan), earned his adult name, and taken his spot among the shaman caste. To his people he is known as "Bēlōr of fēower Fȳrs" ,"Bale of Four Fires" or simply "Balefire". His name reflects his mastery over the 4 basic elements and the terrible power he wields..

This is simply the In Character Convo thread, so I guess, not much to say other than:

Athi Emberscream

Human Cleric of Iomedae
Type - "Reach Cleric"
Align - Lawful Good
Age - 19
Hair - Brown
Eyes - Bright Blue

Athi is from the very rich and well off Emberscream family of Magnimar. Athi's mother and father are architects who have amassed great wealth designing most of the newer buildings in and around Magnimar. Neither of her parents are very religious at all, but they figured out a way to use religion to protect their wealth. They found that by designing places of worship free of charge for various deities that overzealous tax collectors and politicians came around much less frequently.

Athi followed her parents in their more secular lifestyle until she was 13. That summer she was able to spend time helping in the construction of a small temple of Iomedae in the outskirts of Magnimar and it was there that she met Elspet, priestess and renown warrior of Iomedae. Elspet noticed how enthusiastic Athi was in helping put the finishing touches one the temple. Elspet answered all of Athi's many questions about Iomadae and soon began to see more than just a curious girl - she saw a future protector of the faith. Elspet began to show Athi her weapons of the faith and soon all Athi could do was pester Elspet to show her how to use them. The warrior of the faith gave Athi some lessons (only after Athi listened to many hours of Iomedae's travels and history) and soon discovered the potential in the still awkward Athi. The now enlightened Athi convinced her parents to let her pursue a holy path with the faith and took up training with Elspet.

After seven years, Athi was well on her way to following in Elspet's footsteps, then came trouble in the East. The faith was forced to react to a rising tide of dark magic east of Magnimar and had Elspet lead an expedition along the Yondabakari River too discover and root out this threat to Iomedae. Athi begged and begged to go along but the high priest in Magnimar instead sent her to Sandpoint, where she is expected to live in the short term. Her orders are to spread the faith and more importantly be on guard for any threats that seem to be popping up frequently in the region. Eventually the faith would like to construct a new temple in Sandpoint, but cannot until the area is more safe.

Athi, now 19, is still exuberant in her faith to Iomedae and has developed physically into a tall, slim but strong warrior who is deadly with the longspear. Her inexperience with the world outside of the faith is a major weakness though and it shows in some of the decisions she makes. She has what some in the faith describe as a righteous temper, and is quick to pull out her longspear to dissuade enemies of the faith. Lacking the wit and charm of her parents, Athi relies on her impressive physical and athletic skills to solve problems. Athi is not much of a talker, but has no problem standing tall and speaking loudly in defense of Iomedae.

Bill's Note - So essentially I have a very young, relatively bland but idealistic base to work from. I see her as having lots of room to develop a personality and mature as the campaign goes on (assuming she lives long enough).

Post Joethor Eogan Reply with quote

Raised in the frozen north of the Linnorm Kings, fighting along with his people, raiding the coast down south and returning to Bildt with the raided goods. Joethor is familiar with the sea. He and his brethren would spend weeks near the coast on their longship, with the dragon symbol from the Lands of the Linnorm Kings raised high. For a long portion of Joethor's career, he served under the ruthless Ingimundr. When Joethor's brother, Cleyfir, came of age, they went on barbaric raids together, stealing and killing for Ingimundr. Eventually, Ingimundr wanted to take the island of Battlewall from White Estrid by force. Joethor shared his jarl's beliefs, the "king" White Estrid did not kill a limmorn to become ruler as all kings must do to earn respect, instead her linnorm watches over her throne like a guardian. Inginundr led a full scale attack at Battlewall, to the city of Halgrim. however, the viking people of Halgrim were strong, and with the help of the ancient drake on their side, Inginundr's forces were forced to retreat. Joethor and Cleyfir were captured. Joethor, shamed by his defeat, remained silent in his prison as Cleyfir came up with plan after plan of escape.

White Estrid came to the brothers, and showed mercy, offering a chance to serve her as her guard. A chance to live again, a chance to be free, the brothers accepted. For two years, the brothers served. Joethor however became depressed over time. The thrill of battle was his addition. The killing was too fun to forget. His duty at Halgrim board him. He and his brother often caused bar fights just to get a little action. One night however was more than they could handle. Creyfir during a fight killed a warrior, and was considered a traitor. The people distrusted both Creyfir and Joethor for being part of Bildt, and thought this as an attack. Cleyfir was looking at a punishment of death, when Joethor spoke out. The people of the north have respect for warriors with trophies of their greatest kills. Great foes slain means honor. Joethor offers he seeks out a worthy foe to redeem his brother's name. The jarl agreed, but until then he and Cleyfir are banished until Joethor seeks his greatest foe.

Role-playing tips: While Joethor is smart and wise for a barbarian, he is very antisocial and rude. He loves to fight and would rather fight out of a situation than talk his way out. Joethor is easily provoked. He is loud towards women (to try to show he's man enough) and rowdy towards everyone else. While dealing with other NPCs he is very loud and rude, no matter how powerful or prestigious the NPC is. Joethor does have a soft spot towards small animals, but is allergic to dogs. Think Khelgar Ironfist from the Neverwinter Nights 2 video game.

Sunshi

Concept:
Whirling chains of death and bodies flying everywhere.

Tian-Min Nobel branded across his chest with a Tian rune for traitor and put in irons on a ship bound for the barbarian lands on the other side of the world to live in exile among the savages. His crime was falling in love with the wrong woman...ending in her marriage to the hated enemiy of his family and his disgrace and exile. His own father the author of the brand on his chest.

He was unceremoniously dumped off the tradeship a hundred yards from shore. Pulled down by the chains still on his arms and legs, the sailors laughed as he was dragged under the water. As he resigned himself to drowning, a powerful arm reached down and pulled him to life again. An unnaturally large and extremely hairy giant yanked him from his fate and into a small fishing boat. Family honor dictates are clear and make no exceptions for the class of the rescuer. He had a debt to pay...

His name and his past are better left in the ocean he was plucked from. From now on he is only known as "Sunshi" which means "loss" in civilized language.

It seems the barbarian was named Lucien. He had seen the tradeship dangerously close to shore and took it upon himself to "rescue" the ship in a small fishing boat he borrowed for the common good. How he planned to rescue a large trading vessel in little more that a rowboat, it seems, he had not thought through. In any case, the interloper was well placed by Sunshi's Tian ancestors to make sure he did not get out of his punishment so easily.

Meanwhile the alcohol of this place dulls the memory of all that is lost to him. Once the proud son of a noble house, now a vagrant in a land that does not even speak properly. His name and his past are better left in the ocean he was plucked from. From now on he is only known as "Sunshi" which means "loss" in civilized language. Sunshi is 5'2" and 95 lbs. He looks older than his 45 years with long white straight hair tied in a top knot and a thin white mustache that reaches well past his chin. His past included training in the secret techniques of his people in fighting with his hands and feet and weapons of all sorts.

He as often thought of drowning himself to end his misery, but the damnable debt must be paid for saving his life.

After several years of correspondence with the wizards Mearl and Urza Soutzos, I decided to meet them for an intellectual discussion on the finer points of theoretical Linear elemental traversalism in Sandpoint at the Rusty Dragon. Luck would it have that the town of Sandpoint was having the Swallowtail Festival to commemorate the opening of a rebuilt church. So, Lady and I set aside our shamanistic duties and traveled to Sandpoint.

Sadly, I found Mearl and Urza to deeply opiate and alcohol addicted. Their once great minds melted by the drugs they infused them with. Three days after my arrival they were promptly thrown out by the proprietor Amieko (a lovely Tien-min woman) who bade them a 'forever farewell' until they were clean and sober......

Interrogating the villain Tsuto Kaijitsu is hopeless. He keeps his mouth shut and reveals nothing of his motives or intentions. His journal is far more enlightening:

https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/journal/341804/handout/-KRYQLz_73rnoP57HkKj

Quote:
The journal is filled with erotic drawings of some woman who looks strangely familiar. There are also several maps of Sandpoint which appear to be attack plans. One of these is clearly the plan for the festival raid. The most disturbing map seems to suggest a raid with over 200 goblins and though it appears to have been edited, circled, and scratched out in portions, the implications are certainly grim.

Once revived from her stable, but serious condition (-3 hp), Amieko is far more helpful. Her brother conveyed to her that he belongs to a group led by Nualia, a mysterious local girl thought to have disappeared several years ago, and that they have big plans for Sandpoint. Apparently, the upcoming raid is her idea and Tsuto didn't want to see Amieko hurt, so he offered her a spot among the group. She of course was horrified at the idea and told him as much. In anger, he set his goblins on her and she was overwhelmed. She doesn't realize what has happened to her father and takes the news stoically when told by the PCs.
