I don't. The fiend is a prideful idiot.

Why you may ask?

Under the Golden Rules of conjuring magics, when
Slain the creature will reform on its home plane after a day.
And, would not be able to be resummoned for a time.

Yet, due to his pride he can not let go of his foothold
On our mortal plane.

If he would allow this dam to kill him, he would go home.

Balefire's Log

We investigate the swamp near Turtleback. The swamp has seemingly been corrupted by a dark fey nature magic.

** Cross-reference... Fey ties to nature. Can the state of the souls corrupt the environment?

In summary, the swamp dryads have been attacked by ogres. Many of these beautiful peaceful creatures were slain. Luckily, a pixie lead us to his mistress who was the source of the corruption.

This fey, (a nymph) had been the lover of the Fort Ranack's 'Commander Lamater'. She dies of a broken heart at the news of his death. BUT, returns a ghost!
After a bit of negotiation, she relents her threats to doom the world with hostel swamp takeover if we return the body of her lover....
Commander Lamater..... which is being held by the ogres of 'Hook Mountain'.

To HOOK Moutian


Winter has come to Hook Moutian. Here on the the strong survive. The climb is brutal.....

** Cross-reference..... the joys of the spell: Overland Flight ***

After a day climb up a well hidden game trail, we arrive at the ogres cave.

the cave has a moderate amount of guard.... we eliminate them.

On entering, we see a statue of a Rune Giant. Im certain that is is some ancient warlord....... BUT I can't quiet place the name, most likely he is the founder or great leader of this clan.... I don't think anyone has seen a living example of a Rune Giant in 5,000 years...



A quick Detect Magic reveals that it wears a shederion medalion (a very large one), we take it. The statue crumbles.... on further inspection it was actually a preserved Rune Giant.....

Balefire's Log

In proceeding room we, defeat a team of ogres working a forge. Two Hags, and spare one because she provides us with information of the remaining complex.
With the hag's information we lay the Fort Rannic commander to rest. (he had be converted to an ICE WRIGHT)

The lord of Hook Mountain was a spell caster of some sort, he was guarded by 3 other stone giants.

We ended them.

It seems we should make all haste to Sandpoint.

The party returns to the base camp outside Turtle Back.
Madro completes business with Velvet for some magic items.

But, Most importantly Davos raises Sunshi.



After he awakes, he requests ............. a "strong Saki" .

After reading the "Barl" letter, we decide to Teleport to Sandpoint to head off the impending invasion.

Upon reaching Sandpoint, the party asks to meet with the Sheriff, Mayor, and head priest to report what they know. We'll in the Rusty Dragon.




We do not know when the invasion will take place, but we prepare for it.
